As part of our survey with InSync Training to 425 learning professionals, we asked how our respondents stay up-to-date on learning trends. While a few said they simply didn’t have time or that they relied on their peers to learn new things, the majority use external resources such a blogs, magazines, events, and membership to associations in order to keep up with what’s new.
We got so many great recommendations for blogs, newsletters, vendors that offer insights, courses and certifications, magazines, associations, and events that we wanted to share them with the rest of our community.

While the majority of the resources were L&D-centric, quite a few respondents also mentioned industry-specific newsletters, associations, or magazines they use, such as regulatory updates, Gallup, HealthStream, and even an HVAC training company, showing the need to keep up a certain level of subject-matter expertise even when you the instructional designer or trainer are not the SME. And for those running their own training companies, they used Fast Company, Inc, Harvard Business Review, and Entrepreneur to keep up their business skills.
