What paper stocks are available in Mimeo Print?

Depending on the document you create, we will offer you different paper stocks.

Each order is routed to a specific press in the Mimeo facilities depending on its document type. Our color presses accommodate different paper stocks than our black and white presses, and our custom-sized documents use different stocks altogether.

To change your paper stock, go to the File Sequencer and choose your preference for each file. For black and white stocks, you will then see a drop-down menu where you can choose an alternative color paper:

This guide explains all the paper stocks you’ll find in Mimeo Print. (Keep in mind: this is separate from Mimeo PrintX!)

Color Paper Stocks (For Documents Printed in Color or Economy Color)

  • 24 lb Bright White Paper – This is your standard copy paper. It’s great for the guts of your document. Because it is bright, it will provide good context for both text and color designs. We recommend using lightweight paper like this when building a large bound document.

  • 28 lb Premium White Paper – This thicker stock will hold up well if your document is going to be used often, without venturing into cover stocks.

  • 28 lb 100% Recycled White Paper – This is virtually the same as the 28 lb Premium White, except it is friendlier to the environment!

  • 100 lb Glossy White Paper – This is the thickest paper stock without venturing into cover stocks. It comes with a glossy coating, so it looks and feels like the guts of a fashion magazine.

  • 80 lb 100% Recycled White Card – “Card” means this is a thick, sturdy stock that will work well for covers. This will have a matte (or dull) finish, is slightly thinner than the 100 lb card, and is recycled.

  • 100 lb Regular White Card – “Card” means this is a thick, sturdy stock that will work well for covers. This will have a matte (or dull) finish.

  • 100 lb Glossy White Card – “Card” means this is a thick, sturdy stock that will work well for covers. This will have a glossy sheen finish, similar to a magazine cover.

  • 6 mil waterproof polyester (synthetic) – Polyester paper is made to withstand water, paper, and tearing. This thin stock is great for replacing content in a binder or notebook.

  • 10 mil waterproof polyester (synthetic) – Polyester paper is made to withstand water, paper, and tearing. This thicker stock is good for cards, posters, and covers.

  • 80 lb Silk White Paper – This mid-weight paper is the lightest of the silk stocks, with a luxurious, smooth feel and minimal glare that will help you stand out.

  • 100 lb Silk White Paper – This silk paper is thin enough to be used on the inside of your document but heavier and more opaque than the 80 lb. option. Use this stock to give your color designs an exceptionally bright, crisp look with a luxurious feel.

  • 80 lb Silk White Cover – This silk cover stock is the lightest weight of the covers stocks for color documents. It is flexible and offers a lasting impression with a crisp finish and no glare.

  • 100 lb Silk White Cover – This silk cover stock is thick and sturdy, but more opaque than the 80 lb. option. Use it as a durable cover for your document or as a flyer. It offers a beautiful, modern sheen that highlights the smallest details in your content while feeling smooth to the touch.

Black and White Paper Stocks (For Files Printed in Black and White)

For black and white sections of documents, we offer a large variety of paper stock.

For standard white paper, we offer:

  • 20 lb Light Weight Paper – This is slightly lighter and more transparent than your average copy paper. Consider this for simple, text-heavy content.
  • 24 lb Bright White Paper – This is your average copy paper. It’s great for the guts of your document. Since this is brighter than the 20 lb, it provides more contrast, which makes your print more readable.
  • 24 lb Perforated White Paper – This is similar to the 24 lb White Paper with an exact placement of the vertical perforation line allowing for easy tear away of the page(s).
  • 28 lb Premium White Paper – This thicker stock will hold up well if your document is going to be used often, without venturing into cover stocks.
  • 28 lb 100% Recycled White Paper – This is virtually the same stock as the 28 lb Premium White Paper, except it is friendlier to the environment.

We offer a variety of color paper stocks in a standard copy paper weight. This is ideal if you want to print a specific section of your document on a color background. See what each stock looks like in your real-time proof by building a document.

Custom Size Builder Paper Stocks (Color Builder)

When building a custom-size color document like postcards, we offer a different set of paper stocks. You’ll notice suddenly the paper is listed in different units (# vs lb). Besides a few technicalities, 60# is essentially the same as 24 lb in thickness, texture, and weight.

  • Premium White Uncoated 60# Opaque – This is your standard office copy paper.

  • Premium Plus White Uncoated 70# Text – This thicker stock will hold up well if your document is going to be used often, without venturing into cover stocks.

  • Premium Plus White Uncoated 70# Text (100% Recycled) – This is virtually the same stock as the 70# Text, except it is friendlier to the environment.

  • Premium White Glossy 80# Text – This is a thicker, glossier paper stock that still feels like a lightweight paper for your document’s guts.

  • Premium Plus White Glossy 100# Text – This is the thickest paper stock without moving into cover stocks. It will hold up well under high use while displaying color designs well.

  • Premium White Glossy 80# Cover – This will have a glossy finish and is slightly thinner than the 100# cover, so if you are creating a lightweight document, it is a great cover option.
  • Premium White Glossy 80# Cover (100% Recycled) – This is virtually the same as the 80# Cover, except it is friendly to the environment!
  • Premium Plus White Glossy 100# Cover – This will have a glossy finish and is the thickest cover option. This is great for the outside of booklets or as the paper stock for brochures and postcards.

Note: All of our paper is chlorine-free and our recycled paper stock is 100% post-consumer waste.
