Before Mimeo, getting printed materials into the hands of sales reps was a slow, multi-step process that could take weeks from start to finish. Marketing would create collateral and send it to a printer, who would ship materials to a warehouse. From there, a marketing coordinator would make materials available to reps, who then had to request what they needed via email. Orders were tracked manually in spreadsheets, and when reps needed to check on outstanding orders, they had to call the warehouse directly.
